Covering the world with leather

"Wanting to reform the world without discovering one's true self is like trying to cover the world with leather to avoid the pain of walking on stones and thorns. It is much simpler to wear shoes." —Ramana Maharshi

Sad to say, I found this quote from my "T'ai Chi for Dummies" book website.

Ramana Maharshi lived 1879–1950. According to Realization.org, "Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi was probably the most famous Indian sage of the twentieth century. He was renowned for his saintly life, for the fullness of his self-realization, and for the feelings of deep peace that visitors experienced in his presence."

Tomorrow is T'ai Chi class with Sifu Greg at the Riverside Arts Center. No matter how exhausted and achy I enter the class I leave feeling refreshed and revitalized. On a side note, I will need it tomorrow as tonight I must finish another project for clients in the UK who need it by morning London time (5 or 6 hours ahead of EST.)
