Incognito in Texas, tired and rambling

At this moment, I sit in a Starbucks sipping Chai in Texas. I am in disguise, wearing a suit and heels and makeup. The weather outside is beautiful but the locals seem to feel it is cool—it is in the 70s.

I am also at the point of exhaustion from a breakneck schedule that will continue for at least 9 more days. Hopefully the disguise hides the dark circles under my eyes.

I also power walked in these heels today; am so glad I picked up a more comfortable Dansko pair available from Mast Shoes vs. the torture objects at the mall. Also am thankful for my day of practice earlier this week.

Where I am, in this pre-fab town square less than 8 years old, it is as if I am still in the Mall. The "Back to the Future" courthouse is catty corner to me and everything is clean crisp brick with on street parking for the Apple Stores and Eddie Bauers and Victoria's Secrets of this world.

I rented a grey SUV with a GPS. The GPS died and my MapQuest printout failed me. I couldn't find my destination this morning and was very late. Very stressed. Finally parked and walked in circles until I arrived. Then during a break, I decided to try to locate my car. There are loads of grey SUVs in this area of Texas. It was worse than finding a needle in a haystack, it was more like finding a blade of hay in a haystack.

Might have to go back, must sit incognito a bit longer. If feet stop aching, will walk around and take pictures for Flickr. Then I have running shoes and a running suit to change into before the airport.

BFN.
